This exceptionally beautiful stallion is truly an impressive presence. He is a son of Olympian Harrie Smolders’ mount during the Paris 2024 Games, and he ticks every box you could wish for in a modern star of the future.
On the dam’s side we find absolute foundation sires such as Heartbreaker, Darco and Carthago Z — three names that have each left a lasting impact on modern showjumping.
This stallion is also a half-brother to the 1m55 horse Knan vd Kattevennen Z, as well as the two 1m45 horses Cor vd Kattevennen and Cleany vd Kattevennen. His granddam produced, among others, Extreme vd Kattevennen, who competed up to 1m55. Moreover, this family includes numerous other top-level sport horses competing up to 1m55. A stronger international reference is hard to find.
U&I van de Kattevennen moves with lightness, shows a powerful canter and possesses natural balance and suppleness. Over the fence, his qualities became even more evident: scope, awareness and the talent to truly make a difference.
He is also nicely backed and well ridden, and ready to get to work.
