ABOUT
This very young colt is bred from the mare California STB-DDB Z. California is still at the beginning of her breeding career and therefore has plenty of time to develop further. Her pedigree, however, immediately shows why there is so much potential in this young dam line.
Her dam, Queen Cera STB-DDB Z, has already proven herself at a young age in both sport and breeding. Behind her we find the 1.60m Grand Prix mare Jeleena de Muze, who herself competed at the highest level. One generation further back is none other than VDL Groep Eureka, the 1.60m Grand Prix mare who was successful at the highest level under Maikel van der Vleuten.
A young dam line in which quality is clearly passed on from generation to generation, offering plenty of potential for the future.
The sire, Candy de Nantuel, is a son of Grand Prix stallion Luidam and the mare Thara Nantuel. He competed successfully up to 1.55m level under Pénélope Leprévost, achieving several international victories. His pedigree combines the influential French stallions Luidam, Diamant de Semilly and Quidam de Revel.
Candy’s immediate family is equally impressive. He is the full brother of Hello Folie, Scott Brash’s 1.60m Grand Prix horse. Under Brash, Hello Folie competed successfully at the highest level and won two silver medals at the European Championships in A Coruña. His full sister Oceane de Nantuel also competed at Grand Prix level and produced internationally successful offspring.
Candy de Nantuel is also increasingly making his mark as a sire, with offspring already performing successfully at international level.
A very interesting colt from a young dam line with proven 1.60m Grand Prix genetics, combined with the strong sport and breeding lines of Candy de Nantuel. A modern combination with great potential for the future.
